Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Trainee Junior Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead. The role leads to a Trainee Advanced Practitioner path with progression through banded structures.

The post is a 4-year fixed term with progression through 6 and 7 bands as training and qualifications are completed, including non-medical prescribing and advanced practice certification.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree is essential to be considered for this post.
• ALS and/or APLS provider status is expected.
• Minimum of 5 years acute experience to appreciate role complexities.
• Current NMC registration or equivalent Allied Health Professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously under supervision in planning and delivering care in the Emergency Department.
• Engage in education and training provided by Advanced Practitioners and medical staff.
• Support service improvement and evidence-based practice within the Department.
