Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust in Gateshead is seeking an experienced Enhanced Nurse Practitioner (NHS AfC Band 7) to join the Rapid Response Nursing Team. This is a permanent, full-time post of 37.5 hours per week with a 24/7 shift pattern.

The role provides autonomous clinical care in the community, including advanced assessments, prescribing where appropriate, and coordinating urgent responses to prevent hospital admissions. Strong leadership and collaborative working are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Adult Nursing is required.
• Clinical skills/physical assessment qualifications are needed.
• Non medical prescribing or willingness to work towards is expected.

Responsibilities

• To participate in planning, development and evaluation of clinical services using advanced skills.
• Provide specialist advice on assessment, care planning and interventions.
• Lead senior clinical decisions and ensure safe, timely care in the community.
• Develop knowledge through audit, research and development activities.
• Coordinate care across primary, secondary and social care interfaces.
