Job summary

Linear, a developer-focused platform, is seeking a Solutions Engineer to guide technical discovery and design across the customer lifecycle from evaluation to expansion. You will lead tailored demos, PoCs, security reviews, and integration workshops to accelerate time to close, working closely with Sales and Customer Success.

You’ll translate customer workflows into Linear configurations, data models, and integration patterns, building scalable demo environments and enabling the sales motion

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Solutions Engineering/Pre-Sales or similar role at a high-growth SaaS company.
• Strong hands-on experience with OAuth2 and GraphQL, data migrations, and product integrations.
• Excellent communication skills—able to present complex technical concepts clearly to engineers and executives.
• Experience with Github and Jira; Linear and/or Jira strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to build realistic, scalable demo environments and troubleshoot production issues.
• CS degree or engineering background preferred, with collaboration across Sales, Product, and Customer Success.

Responsibilities

• Act as the customer’s technical advisor across the lifecycle, partnering with Sales and Customer Success to ensure continuity from evaluation through onboarding and expansion.
• Lead technical discovery and architecture for strategic prospects and existing customers; translate workflows into Linear configuration, data model, and integration patterns.
• Run pre-sales technical evaluations end-to-end: demos, proof-of-concepts, security reviews, and integration workshops to accelerate close.
• Design and execute migrations and implementation plans; provide clear handoffs to post-sale teams.
• Build and maintain realistic demo environments and reference configurations mirroring enterprise workflows.
• Codify lifecycle playbooks and enablement: create technical training for sales and post-sale teams.
