Job summary

Iron Mountain seeks a strategic Design Manager to lead end-to-end design delivery for critical data centre projects across Europe, including London, Amsterdam, Madrid and Frankfurt, partnering with multidisciplinary experts to ensure engineering excellence.

You will oversee external design consultants, coordinate with internal teams, manage budgets and schedules, and mitigate design risks to meet safety and quality standards while supporting Iron Mountain's expanding digital footprint, with

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in the design delivery of mission-critical facilities, specifically within data centres, pharma, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of complex mechanical, electrical, life safety and control systems, with solid command of building codes.
• Proven ability to direct multidisciplinary design teams and manage key vendor and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.
• University degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering; willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-party design consultants to deliver mission-critical data centre facilities aligned with global specifications.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations teams on fit-out programs.
• Provide engineering oversight: budget, schedule, and product delivery to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Identify and mitigate design risks early to protect timelines and delivery standards.
