Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Business Development Director - General Contractors to lead engagement with major data centre builders across EMEA. You will cultivate executive relationships, shape project outcomes in early planning, and build a robust opportunity pipeline within the Data Centre Solutions portfolio.

Role requires market insight, strategic sales leadership, and deep knowledge of how contractors influence delivery across hyperscale, colocation, and AI data centre developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of business development, strategic account management, or related leadership experience in data centers or critical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to develop relationships with major General Contractors, EPC firms, or construction partners across EMEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional growth strategy targeting leading General Contractors in the EMEA data centre market.
• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and AI-driven data centre projects.
• Build executive relationships with Data Centre Directors, Construction Directors, Procurement Leaders, Commercial Directors, and Project Executives.
• Position Johnson Controls' data centre portfolio across planning, specification, procurement, and delivery phases.
• Increase market penetration within priority General Contractor accounts and strategic partners.
• Develop visibility into upcoming projects, investment plans, market trends, and competition.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, operations, solution development, and project delivery teams to create value.
• Support commercial negotiations, framework agreements, preferred supplier programs, and strategic partnerships.
• Maintain accurate opportunity pipeline, account plans, and sales forecasts using CRM.
