Job summary

Line Up Aviation is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a 6-month contract in Portsmouth. The role focuses on embedded C/C++ development on Linux-based platforms with real-time constraints.

Responsibilities include prototyping wireless solutions, developing firmware, and maturing prototypes toward deployment using Buildroot/Yocto, U-Boot, and device trees. SC clearance is required and the IR35 status is in scope.

Qualifications

• Experience programming embedded systems using C/C++.
• Experience with bare-metal and embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with linux device drivers including DMA, Interrupts, and Device Trees.
• Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Radio.

Responsibilities

• Prototype wireless solutions.
• Develop embedded software/firmware in an agile environment.
• Develop prototypes to deployment standard.
• Develop software in real-time embedded Linux environments (Buildroot/Yocto).
• Work with U-Boot, Kernel config and device trees.
• Build and deploy embedded Linux systems in offline environments.
