Job summary

Searchability is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to prototype wireless solutions and develop firmware for real-time embedded platforms.

You will work with C/C++ on embedded Linux, bare-metal and platforms like MicroBlaze and RISC-V, moving innovative prototypes through to deployment-ready systems.

The role is onsite in Portsmouth, three days per week, for an initial 6-month contract and SC clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming embedded systems using C/C++
• Strong experience across bare-metal and embedded Linux environments
• Experience developing Linux device drivers
• Knowledge of DMA, interrupts and device trees
• Experience with Buildroot and/or Yocto
• Experience with U-Boot and Linux Kernel configuration
• Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
• Knowledge or experience of Software Defined Radio (SDR)

Responsibilities

• Prototype embedded software solutions for wireless platforms
• Develop firmware across real-time embedded platforms
• Develop software for embedded Linux environments
• Take prototypes through to deployment-ready systems
• Configure and deploy embedded Linux systems in offline environments
