Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking a Software Assurance and Functional Safety Consultant to support clients in the development and assurance of safety-related software and complex programmable systems.

You will lead activities across the engineering lifecycle, linking hazards to software architectures, development processes, verification evidence, and certification arguments, while mentoring juniors and contributing to client relationships and business growth.

Qualificações

• Degree in Software/Systems/Electronic Engineering or safety-related discipline (or equivalent).
• Experience developing, verifying, or assuring software for safety-related systems.
• Strong understanding of functional safety principles and hazard-driven requirements.
• Ability to assess engineering evidence across requirements, architecture, traceability, verification, and change management.
• Practical knowledge of embedded and real-time software, interfaces and failure behaviour.
• Ability to identify assurance gaps and communicate proportionate recommendations.
• Excellent technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and deliver software assurance and functional safety activities across lifecycles.
• Develop and review software assurance plans, safety plans, and compliance matrices.
• Allocate and assess software safety requirements from hazards and analyses.
• Assess architectures, development processes, tools, verification, and change control.
• Review lifecycle evidence including requirements, designs, code, tests, and traceability.
• Conduct independent assurance activities, audits, gap assessments, and supplier reviews.
• Support safety cases and assurance arguments with traceable evidence.
• Advise clients on standards tailoring, independence, assurance levels, and compliance objectives.
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development and capability growth.
