Frazer-Nash Consultancy is seeking a Software Assurance and Functional Safety Consultant to support clients in developing and assuring safety-related software and complex programmable systems across civil and defence programmes.

You will lead software assurance activities, derive safety requirements from hazards, review architectures and evidence, and contribute to client relationships and business development, with hybrid working and travel to client sites.

Formación

• Degree-qualified or equivalent practical experience in a software or safety-related discipline.
• Experience developing, verifying, or assuring software for safety-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of functional safety principles and hazard-driven requirements.
• Ability to assess structured engineering evidence including requirements, architecture and traceability.
• Practical knowledge of software lifecycles, embedded/real-time software, and verification techniques.
• Ability to identify assurance gaps and communicate proportionate recommendations.
• Excellent technical writing and ability to explain complex assurance concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Capability to manage work to time, cost, and quality expectations.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and deliver software assurance and functional safety activities across lifecycles.
• Develop and review safety plans, development plans and assurance strategies.
• Derive and assess software safety requirements from hazards and safety analyses.
• Review architectures, development processes, tools and verification approaches.
• Document findings, risks and actions from audits and supplier reviews.
• Support safety cases with traceable, credible evidence.
• Advise clients on standards applications and tailoring for assurance objectives.
• Build client relationships and contribute to bids and capability development.
