At Vix Technology, we're bringing people, technology and services together to make transport work better for everyone. Operating across international markets, we connect and simplify complex transport systems, giving operators the clarity, control and confidence to run better mobility and create simpler, more connected experiences for passengers. Our goal is simple: better systems, better outcomes and transport that works as one. It's our people who make that possible. We value those who take ownership, work well with others and aren't afraid to question the default. You'll have the opportunity to contribute your expertise, solve meaningful challenges and work alongside people who share your ambition to build great solutions and make a difference.
A device stops responding. Is it the software, a network setting, a loose connection or something nobody has thought of yet? If you enjoy following the evidence until you find the answer, you could be exactly who we’re looking for. At Vix Technology, we’re looking for an Embedded QA Engineer to test the software behind physical devices, displays and on-vehicle equipment. Your work will help us release reliable products that perform in the real world—even when the power drops, the network disappears or a device needs to recover on its own.
You’ll take ownership of manual and system-level testing, setting up equipment, installing software builds and creating reliable, repeatable test environments. From checking everyday functionality to exploring awkward edge cases, you’ll put our products through their paces and provide clear evidence of what’s ready for release. Some days, you’ll be working through Linux logs, checking application behaviour or investigating communication between devices and supporting services. On others, you’ll be tracing a wiring fault, making a test cable or reaching for a multimeter. You’ll need to feel equally comfortable at the command line and the test bench. You’ll explore how equipment behaves during startup, shutdown, reboots, power loss and network interruptions. When something fails, you’ll reproduce the problem, work out where it originates and give developers the detail they need to resolve it. Along the way, you’ll keep test plans, defect reports, release versions and device configurations accurate and easy to follow. You’ll also run existing automated tests, investigate failures and help identify where additional coverage would make a difference. Sharing discoveries and supporting junior colleagues will be part of the job too.
We’re interested in people who combine strong testing instincts with practical technical skills. You should have:
You’ll be comfortable investigating across software, operating systems, networking, power and hardware, including unfamiliar or legacy platforms. You don’t need advanced circuit design experience, but you should be able to set up equipment safely and investigate hardware‑related failures independently.
Experience with Robot Framework, scripting in Python or Bash, MQTT, serial communications, GPIO or watchdogs would be welcome. Familiarity with Windows CE, .NET Compact Framework, Docker, simulators or device connections to cloud and back‑office services would also come in handy. We’re open to thoughtful use of approved AI tools to help develop test scenarios, analyse findings and improve documentation. You’ll remain responsible for checking the results and protecting confidential information.
Join Vix Technology and be part of a global team making transport work better. You’ll work with talented people to solve real‑world challenges in a culture that values collaboration, ownership, fresh thinking and putting customers first.
Alongside this, we offer a range of benefits designed to support you at work and beyond.
Vix Technology is committed to a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, fairness and inclusion. We value diversity of background, experience and perspective and are committed to equal opportunity, with employment decisions based on merit.
