Job summary

Capita, via the Selborne programme, is recruiting an instructor to deliver underwater warfare training using SONAR systems for Royal Navy personnel at HMS Collingwood, Portsmouth. The role is full-time but term-time, with 37.5 hours weekly and pro rata annual leave considerations.

You will share technical knowledge, support learners’ progression, and collaborate with experienced colleagues to enhance training delivery while maintaining professional development and Defence training participation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the operation of Royal Navy SONAR systems.
• Desirable teaching qualification/experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training in underwater warfare and SONAR systems to Royal Navy personnel.
• Share your technical knowledge and operational experience to help develop the next generation of warfare specialists.
• Support students throughout their learning journey, helping them build confidence and professional competence.
• Work alongside experienced instructors and learning specialists to continually improve training delivery.
• Maintain and develop your own skills through ongoing professional development and Defence training programmes.
• Contribute to the evolution of Royal Navy training by sharing best practice and helping shape future learning solutions.
