Job summary

Matchtech seeks an Electronics Training Instructor in Portsmouth to deliver practical training in electronics and engineering. You will teach up to 16 learners, support technical programmes, and foster a positive learning environment, collaborating with colleagues in Learning & Development.

You'll bring electronics/engineering experience, strong communication, and a passion for mentoring. Prior training or coaching is desirable, with eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).

Qualifications

  • Electronics, electrical, or engineering experience gained through industry or military service.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing others.
  • Experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or instructional roles or a strong desire to move into training.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and practical training in electronics and engineering principles.
  • Teach groups of up to 16 learners.
  • Support learners undertaking technical engineering programmes.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development and fellow instructors.
  • Contribute to training materials and delivery method improvements.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support practical workshops and hands-on learning activities.

Portsmouth | Permanent | Term-Time Only (45 Weeks per Year)

The Opportunity

As an Electronics Training Instructor, you will deliver engaging and practical training covering:

  • Electronic maintenance principles
  • Fault-finding and diagnostic techniques

Working alongside an experienced team of instructors, you'll play a key role in developing the next generation of engineering professionals through high-quality training and mentorship.

  • Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable
  • Experience delivering technical training, workshops, or classroom-based learning.
  • Knowledge of defence, military, or highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Level 4 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous instructional or coaching experience.
