Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer for a Colchester-area role. The position is permanent, on-site, with a salary of £40,000–£45,000 per year and a strong benefits package.

The role involves hands-on testing, validation, fault finding, and debugging of electronic products before release to production. You will work with analogue/digital circuits and use standard test equipment, with training provided for programming tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Electronics Test Engineer | Colchester Area | £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

We are recruiting for an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to join a well-established electronics manufacturer based near Colchester.

This is a hands-on technical role, involving the testing, validation and fault finding of new and existing electronic products before they are released into production. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics, be confident working with electronic circuits and enjoy investigating and resolving complex technical problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed testing and validation of new and existing electronic products against technical specifications
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults at circuit and component level using schematics and test equipment
• Perform electrical measurements, analyse results and investigate product failures
• Identify root causes of technical issues and work towards effective solutions
• Develop C++ software applications for engineering and production testing, with training provided where required
• Manage multiple testing activities, record results and provide technical feedback to support product improvements

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience in electronics testing, fault finding or a similar engineering role
• Strong practical knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuits
• Confident reading and interpreting electronic schematics
• Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators or logic analysers
• Good understanding of electronic measurements, signal processing and circuit debugging
• Ability to investigate complex faults independently and explain technical findings
• HNC/HND or degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
• C++, C or Python programming experience would be advantageous, although training can be provided
