Job summary

Verso Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer for our Colchester-based team. This hybrid role involves 3 days on site working on a variety of cutting-edge electronic projects, from new designs to legacy obsolescence work.

You will leverage expertise in analogue and digital hardware, schematic capture and PCB design to develop, improve and maintain systems across their lifecycle. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electronic hardware design.
• Strong analogue and digital electronics knowledge.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
• Good understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems.
• Experience using electronic design/CAD tools.
• Experience working with existing or legacy electronic designs.
• Exposure to component obsolescence, redesign or product improvement projects.
• Strong fault-finding and debugging skills.
• Ability to analyse problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering projects.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Colchester (hybrid, 3 days on site)

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 with generous benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team working on a variety of cutting-edge projects based in Colchester.

This role offers a great blend of challenge and variety, giving you the opportunity to work across new and existing electronic designs, including legacy systems, product improvements and obsolescence projects. Your engineering expertise and problem-solving skills will play an important role in developing, improving and maintaining electronic systems throughout their lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic hardware design, with experience across analogue and digital electronics. Proficiency with electronic design and CAD tools, alongside a strong understanding of electronic components and systems, is essential. Experience working with legacy designs, product improvements or component obsolescence would be advantageous.
