Summary

EM Motorsport is a UK based company specialising in the design, manufacture and customer support of electronic devices for use in high technology markets such as Motorsport. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be involved in the assembly, testing and quality control of various electronic products in collaboration with other technicians in the Production Department.

We expect a good knowledge of electronics and a pro-active and problem-solving attitude.

We also require good manual ability for the assembly of products and good experience in soldering electronic components and in the fabrication of wiring harnesses. EM Motorsport's aim is to always ensure efficient and quality production processes. Each person has an important and strategic role to always guarantee the excellence of the Company.

Duties and tasks

The Electronics Technician will be required to carry out the following duties and tasks as per the requests and requirements defined by the Production Supervisor:

  • Assemble the components of the product in production following the assembly specifications
  • Test each assembly step ensuring the good quality and functionality of the sub-assembly
  • Maintain the assembly times as defined by the technical documentation.
  • Issuing the final test report
  • The repair and servicing of our products that have been return from the field
  • If requested, they will have to provide after-sales support for the resolution of any problems in the field.
  • If necessary, he/she will have to carry out off-site interventions (always in the UK) for maintenance and/or repairs

Responsibilities

The Electronics Technician is required to carry out all the assigned duties and tasks with care and diligence; however, he/she will be responsible for ensuring that the following tasks relating to his/her work are carried out or completed:

  • Ensure the quality of the products we produce, repair and service internally
  • Ensure compliance with the general specifications of the final product.
  • Ensure all products are quality tested and that the company’s quality control processes are followed.
  • Ensure the highest possible level of after-sales service is provided to our UK based customers.

Personal skills and qualities.

The Electronic Technician role requires the following skills:

  • Good knowledge of electronics
  • Good working knowledge of electronic instrumentation
  • Good ability to read circuit diagrams
  • Good ability to solder microelectronic components, which is necessary for the manufacture and repair of our products.
  • Constant attention to meeting the deadlines required by our customers.
  • Good interpersonal skills, which enable the person to supervise a small department effectively.
