Job description

About the role

We are recruiting into our Solar Technical team, to support and carry out all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across a portfolio of utility-scale solar assets in the Buckinghamshire / Bedfordshire area.

This role will be home-based but will require daily travel within the region with occasional travel to other parts of the UK.

What you will do
  1. Understand the company's detailed obligations regarding the Site/Lead Technician's assigned sites, and ensure, monitor, and report on compliance with those obligations.
  2. Be aware of HSE issues, report any on-site issues to the Regional Manager and HSE Manager, and implement necessary measures to improve HSE.
  3. Perform scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure successful ongoing operation.
  4. Take primary on-site responsibility for plant performance, work quality, and site appearance (both electrical, landscaping, and others).
  5. Maintain regular contact with the Regional Manager and O&M coordinator to coordinate site works effectively and seek guidance where needed.
  6. Effectively resolve work tickets with other Site Technicians and report back to the Asset Manager, O&M coordinator, or Regional Manager in a professional, complete, and timely manner.
  7. Liaise with internal and external parties such as in-house LV, HV, and Ground maintenance teams, subcontractors, and other third parties as directed.
  8. Undertake all required training and development diligently and professionally.
  9. Participate in the company's on-call rota for non-working hours, including bank holidays and weekends.
What you bring
  • C&G 2330 level 2/3 or equivalent qualification.
  • C&G BS7671 17th/18th edition.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Team player.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Desirable: Attention to detail.
  • Desirable: HV qualifications such as AP15 or OP40 or equivalent, and a personal switching log.
  • Desirable: Qualifications or training in specific PV inverter technologies; Communications or networking qualifications; IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Experience working on ground-mounted solar farms.
