Odin Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled Workshop Winder / Electro-Mechanical Fitter for an established engineering company in the UK. You will dismantle, repair, rewind and test a range of rotating electrical equipment including motors, pumps and gearboxes.

The ideal candidate has a time-served apprenticeship and proven rewinding experience, with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read engineering drawings. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent
• ONC/HNC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Proven repair/rewind experience on rotating electrical equipment
• Strong knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators and related mechanical systems
• Experience using electrical test equipment and fault-finding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/technical docs
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsabilités

• Dismantle, inspect, repair, rewind and reassemble AC/DC motors, pumps, generators, fans and gearboxes.
• Carry out rewinding of single-phase and three-phase motors using approved techniques.
• Perform electrical testing of motor windings: insulation resistance, continuity, surge, functional tests.
• Apply controlled burnout to remove windings without core damage.
• Manufacture, install and test replacement windings to original specs.
• Inspect reusable components for wear/defects and advise repair or replacement.
• Conduct incoming inspections of electro-mechanical equipment for faults and damage.
• Complete service reports, inspection records, testing docs and quality paperwork accurately.
