Technique-Recruitment Solutions Ltd is hiring a Winding Shop Supervisor / Senior Electrical Rewinder in Norwich. You will head the winding shop, manage workloads, and guide apprentices while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires hands-on electrical rewind experience, leadership ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturdays and out-of-hours callouts. Overtime allowances and a contributory pension are offered.

• Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
• Flexibility Required: Occasional Saturday mornings and participation in out-of-hours callouts

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Rewinder to head up our busy winding shop. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily department operations, manage workloads, and actively guide, mentor, and train junior employees and apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership: Oversee the winding shop, manage daily workloads, and provide training and technical guidance to junior team members.
• Rewinding & Assembly: Strip, rewind, and test an array of electro-mechanical units, including AC/DC motors, single-phase/three-phase systems, DC fields, armatures, wound stators, and transformers.
• Diagnostics & Data Collection: Fault-find electrical issues, apply proper connecting methods, and accurately collect data.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate specialised testing and repair equipment (e.g., winding machines, surge testers, core-loss testers, bake ovens, grinders, gantry cranes, and dip tanks).
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Strictly observe proper insulating techniques, accurately document all test results, and complete job-related paperwork on time.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workspace in line with health, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain stores and stock levels. Ordering of stock and parts required. Stock take and organised storage.
• Logistics & Representation: Assist with the pickup and delivery of components across the Norfolk and Suffolk areas, maintaining great communication with team members, suppliers, and customers.

Skills and Experience Required

• Technical Expertise: Fully trained engineer with extensive hands-on experience in electrical motor rewinds.
• Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures.
• Driving Licence: A clean, full UK driving licence is important for handling regional collections and deliveries.
