Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Winder to join our specialist engineering and manufacturing team in the Greater London area. The role focuses on winding, assembling, testing and repairing electric motors and related components, with a hands-on, precision-driven approach.

The ideal candidate will have experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electrical winding or precision assembly work, and be comfortable following technical drawings and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong electro-mechanical assembly skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Soldering experience, particularly with small components.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Wind, assemble and install wire coils for electric rotors, stators, armatures and other components, both manually and using machinery.
• Assemble components into finished products, following technical drawings, work instructions and quality standards.
• Carry out electrical and mechanical tests, including Hi-Pot, core loss, phase balance and rotational direction testing.
• Inspect components, identify faults and carry out repairs or rework where required.
• Measure components and clearances using precision measuring equipment.
• Operate hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Complete quality inspections and testing on finished assemblies.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any issues.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities and process enhancements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Support other departments and undertake cross-training when required.
