Our client, a globally renowned manufacturer and supplier with over 140 years of expertise, produces top-quality, specialist equipment for materials testing. Their products serve diverse industries worldwide, demonstrating their commitment to excellence and innovation in precision engineering. They are now seeking to recruit a Electro-Mechanical Technician to join their team.

Location & Hours

Location: Horley – must be a driver as the role involves travelling to another site

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated technician to take full ownership of the build process for the Vector Extensometer product line. The role involves assembly, calibration, and supply of products, contributing to their development and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use the company's ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics F&O) for production planning, inventory, and workflow management.
  • Inspect incoming parts, liaise with suppliers for quality issues.
  • Kit components for sub-assemblies and final builds based on ERP orders.
  • Assemble and build products following company procedures, including repairs.
  • Calibrate products with approved equipment; record serial numbers and calibration data.
  • Prepare and pack units for dispatch, meeting deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to uphold quality and communicate changes.
  • Keep production data and documentation up to date.
  • Follow health and safety policies.
  • Perform other duties to support production and efficiency.
About You
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Full driving license required.
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience with small hand tools.
  • Apprentice-trained or time-served, with NVQ, HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Qualification or training in electronic product assembly or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and numerical skills.
  • Reliable, organized, and independent worker.
  • Proficient in English and Microsoft Office Suite.
