Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Product Development Engineer to design, develop and support sophisticated electro-mechanical products across the full lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to production support and new product introductions.

You will bridge product development, manufacturing and customer support, ensuring reliability, performance and scalable growth of future technologies. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Experience developing, integrating or supporting complex electro-mechanical products.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot electronic systems to component level.
• Experience interpreting electronic schematics, technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Experience developing and executing product testing, validation and verification activities.
• An understanding of digital and analogue electronics and embedded systems - ideal

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and integrating complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Identifying opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Investigating and resolving electronic, mechanical and system-level issues.
• Supporting engineering change activities and product lifecycle management.
• Developing test methods and automated test systems to validate product performance.
• Leading product evaluation, prototyping and verification activities.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, specifications and test reports.
• Contributing to the development of next-generation products and technologies.
• Working closely with manufacturing teams to improve build quality and production efficiency.
• Supporting customer and service teams with technical expertise and problem resolution.
• Monitoring industry developments, competitor technologies and market trends to help shape future product innovation.
