Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering business delivering bespoke industrial systems and turnkey projects. The role involves hands-on work across the full project lifecycle, from initial customer engagement and site surveys to design, manufacture and installation.

You will work closely with customers, manufacturing teams, and installation engineers to ensure efficient delivery and high standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Mechanical Design or Project Engineer roles taking designs from concept to completion.
• Strong CAD skills across 2D/3D tools and familiarity with production/ fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication and ability to interact with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce engineering designs and layouts using 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and consultations to gather project requirements.
• Develop practical engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Prepare RAMS to support installation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
• Monitor project progress from concept through installation and provide technical support.
