Job summary

Verso Recruitment Group is seeking an Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer in Fareham, Hampshire. The role spans mechanical and electrical design, with hardware integration and support across the product lifecycle.

You will work on projects from concept to production, producing CAD models, drawings, schematics and BOMs, and collaborating with production and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in electro–mechanical design.
• Experience with 3D CAD and SolidWorks/Inventor.
• Experience producing electrical schematics and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting projects from initial requirements through to design, validation and production.
• Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Undertaking mechanical design of enclosures, chassis and assemblies.
• Supporting electrical design, including wiring, cabling, connectors and power distribution.
• Integrating computing hardware and supporting system testing and troubleshooting.
• Considering thermal management, power requirements, EMC, safety and manufacturability.
• Managing engineering changes and maintaining technical documentation.

Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Salary: GBP45,000 to GBP55,000 basic + benefits

The Opportunity – Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer

We're working with an established engineering business specialising in the design and integration of complex electro–mechanical systems. They're looking for an Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer to support projects from initial concept through to design, testing and production.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working across mechanical design, electrical engineering and computing hardware.

The Role – Electro–Mechanical Design Engineer

You'll work closely with engineering, production and supply chain teams to develop, integrate and maintain a range of engineered products and systems.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting projects from initial requirements through to design, validation and production.
• Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, electrical schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Undertaking mechanical design of enclosures, chassis and assemblies.
• Supporting electrical design, including wiring, cabling, connectors and power distribution.
• Integrating computing hardware and supporting system testing and troubleshooting.
• Considering thermal management, power requirements, EMC, safety and manufacturability.
• Managing engineering changes and maintaining technical documentation.

About You

You'll have a practical engineering background and enjoy working across multiple disciplines.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Commercial experience in electro–mechanical design.
• Knowledge of electro–mechanical assemblies and product build environments.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
• An understanding of Bills of Materials, engineering change control and product lifecycle management.
• A proactive approach to problem–solving, with good communication and organisational skills.
