Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer in Peterborough for a 12-month on-site contract. You will lead development of electrified machine demonstrators, manage LV/HV architectures, and collaborate with controls, software and mechanical teams to deliver robust electrical solutions.

The role involves defining requirements, selecting components, validating plans and hands-on testing with CAN-based diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing and integrating electrical systems across multiple sectors.
• Hands-on experience with LV and HV systems (60V to 1500V+).
• Strong understanding of validation processes and safety standards.
• Ability to analyze complex system interactions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical system requirements and specifications.
• Lead electrical architecture development and system integration.
• Evaluate components and subsystems with rigorous testing.
• Create validation plans and procedures with acceptance criteria.
• Conduct hands-on machine electrical validation for HV/LV architectures.
• Troubleshoot, commission, and debug during build.
• Resolve integration issues during the build phase.
• Document decisions, test results and recommendations.
