An established industry player is seeking two skilled Network Technicians to join their dynamic team at the Alfreton depot. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electricity distribution networks up to 66kV. You will engage in hands-on work, ensuring safety compliance and effective communication within a small team. Opportunities are available for two Technicians based at our Alfreton depot.
You will be accountable to the Team Manager for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Additionally, you will be responsible for programming and monitoring immediate work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, issuing appropriate safety documentation, and performing other tasks relevant to the Technician role.
You are required to have grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects. Furthermore, you must hold a City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
*Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are completed.
You must be able to work on your own initiative as part of a small team and be capable of making on-the-spot decisions as required. Good communication skills, a flexible attitude, and the ability to cope in pressured situations often working to tight deadlines are essential. Additionally, you will be required to undertake SAP training and be mobile throughout the area to undertake standby duties as part of the formal rota.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.
