Job summary

The Electrician role at Sodexo is based at HMP Altcourse and covers electrical installation, testing, examination and maintenance within a prison environment.

The successful candidate will support the Maintenance Team Leader, work with allied trades and ensure all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently while maintaining detailed compliance records. Applications from suitably qualified professionals are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fault finding, installation, and repairs.
• Knowledge of commercial electrical repairs including HVAC, AHU, controls and BMS systems.
• Experience in testing, inspection, and PAT testing.
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Qualified to 18th Edition (BS 7671).

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on electrical systems within the establishment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with relevant trade standards (18th Edition).
• Perform scheduled maintenance services on electrical systems and fixtures.
• Conduct out-of-hours call-outs on an On Call rota system and respond appropriately.
• Escort specialist contractors and support their work as required.
• Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities meet the necessary codes of practice.
