Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Electrician for HMP Altcourse to provide electrical installation, testing, examination and maintenance within a secure environment, supporting the Maintenance Team Leader and collaborating with allied trades to keep critical systems safe and compliant.

You will carry out repairs, preventative maintenance, testing and PAT checks, keep detailed records, respond to on-call rota, and ensure all work complies with 18th Edition (BS 7671) and relevant safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to 18th Edition (BS 7671).
• Experience in fault finding, installation and repairs.
• Testing, inspection and PAT testing knowledge.
• Knowledge of HVAC, AHU, controls and BMS is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on electrical systems within the establishment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with relevant trade standards (18th Edition).
• Perform scheduled maintenance services on electrical systems and fixtures.
• Conduct out-of-hours call-outs on an On Call rota system and respond appropriately.
• Escort specialist contractors and support their work as required.
• Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities meet the necessary codes of practice.
