Job summary

Serco Limited at HMP Doncaster is seeking an Electrician to perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, and installation work in a secure environment. You will help keep essential services safe, compliant, and operational, contributing to a safer community and reliable prison operations.

You will read drawings, work with the maintenance team, and ensure high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent.
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship completed.
• BS7671 (current edition) knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, repairs, and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with statutory and contractual requirements.
• Install new electrical plant, equipment, and related systems as required.
• Inspect, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems (LV/HV) within scope.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
• Work with the maintenance team ensuring safety, compliance and high performance.
