Job summary

VANRATH in Belfast, Northern Ireland is recruiting an Electrician to carry out installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in domestic properties for a leading construction company. The role emphasises safe, compliant electrical work and fault diagnosis to ensure reliable operation.

The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent, AM2, and can obtain an ECS Gold Card.

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• AM2 and ECS Gold Card or route to obtain ECS Gold Card.
• Level 3 Award in the requirements of Electrical Installations BS 7671 (latest edition).
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe isolation in accordance with industry standards and company processes and document it where necessary.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring systems, equipment and accessories per EAWR and BS 7671.
• Inspect and test fixed wiring systems in line with BS 7671 and company/client processes.
• Inspect and test In-service electrical equipment.
• Design, install, commission and maintain fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises to BS5839-6 (Latest edition).
• Find, repair or rectify faults on fixed wiring systems using a multifunction tester and other equipment.
• Collaborate with other trades to complete jobs and repairs efficiently.
• Work safely within the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and relevant regulations.
• Provide high-quality customer service and address client inquiries professionally.

VANRATH are recruiting an Electrician to carry out installations, repairs and maintenance work to domestic properties for a leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Overview: The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within residential properties. Ensure that all electrical work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and British standards and company & client processes. The Electrician is also responsible for diagnosing faults and performing necessary repairs, maintaining electrical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and to carry out electrical installation condition reports.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out safe isolation in accordance with industry standards and company processes and where necessary documenting it
• Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring systems, equipment, and accessories, ensuring compliance with the electricity at work regulations 1989 (EAWR), BS 7671 the wiring regulations (latest edition), and the relevant guidance notes
• Inspection and testing of fixed wiring systems in accordance with BS 7671, guidance notes three and company & client processes
• Inspection and testing of Inservice electrical equipment
• Design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises to BS5839-6 (Latest edition)
• Finding, repairing or rectifying faults on fixed wiring systems using a multifunction tester and other relevant equipment
• Collaborating with other construction workers and tradespeople to complete jobs/repairs efficiently
• Ensure you work safely and within the requirements of the health and safety at work act 1974, the electricity at work regulations 1989 and all relevant British standards
• Providing high-quality customer service and addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally

The Ideal Person:

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification
• AM2
• Alternatively possess qualifications that predate the above. However, you must be able to obtain an ECS gold card with the qualifications you hold
• Level 3 Award in the requirements of electrical installations BS 7671 (latest edition)
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction
• Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repairs within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, including the Electricity at Work Regulations
