Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Electrician in Glasgow for a permanent full-time role. You will maintain, repair and install electrical systems across tenanted properties in a hands-on, field-based position with a company van and fuel card provided.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations with AM2, City & Guilds 18th Edition, a full UK driving licence, and social housing experience. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations with AM2 where applicable.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (17th edition acceptable with 18th edition upgrade).
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to tenanted properties.
• Experience in domestic/social housing electrical maintenance.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
• Inspection and testing experience (2391 or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, fault find and maintain electrical systems in tenanted properties.
• Repair electrical accessories such as sockets, extractors and light switches.
• Carry out first fix and second fix electrical installations.
• Maintain high safety standards and complete documentation as required.

Job description

Annual salary: up to £36,860.25 Electrician Location: Glasgow Contract: Permanent, Full - Time Salary: £36,860.25 per annum, plus company van & fuel card Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00am-4:30pm We’re currently looking for a skilled and qualified Electrician to join our team in Tannochside. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across tenanted properties. The ideal candidate will be reliable and possess strong organisational and time management skills.

Electrical Duties

• You will need to have proven experience installing, servicing, fault finding, and maintaining electrical systems within the social housing sector.
• You will have a strong knowledge of installing, repairing, inspecting, and testing electrical installations and carrying out repairs within tenanted properties.
• The role will include carrying out repairs to electrical accessories such as sockets, extractor fans, and light switches.
• You will also be expected to have knowledge and experience of first fix and second fix electrical installations.

Role Criteria

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations - to include AM2
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (If you have 17th edition you can work through your 18th edition)
• Full UK driving licence
• Previous domestic, social housing experience
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395) preferable
