Job summary

Aspion Search is recruiting an Electrician to join a leading UK manufacturer with a global reputation for specialist engineering solutions. You will be involved in assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and electrical control panels.

This role offers a 4-day working week, overtime on Fridays and at weekends, Bupa Health Cash Plan, regular on-site physiotherapy and a supportive engineering team to help you develop your technical skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Industrial/heavy manufacturing electrician experience
• Experience building/wiring electrical control panels
• Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems, motors and drives
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of frequency inverters and PLC controlled systems
• Confidence using IT systems to access technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, test and commission electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and associated electrical panels.
• Build, wire and test electrical control panels to engineering specifications.
• Assemble and connect electro-mechanical components, completing functional testing.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out daily health and safety inspections on designated equipment, including overhead cranes.
• Ensure tools, test equipment and measuring devices remain in good condition and within calibration requirements.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.

This is an opportunity to join a well established business, working on the assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and electrical control panels.

Responsibilities of the Electrician

• Assemble, wire, test and commission electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and associated electrical panels.
• Build, wire and test electrical control panels to engineering specifications.
• Assemble and connect electro-mechanical components, completing functional testing.
