Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrician to join a leading facilities management contractor in the UK. The role involves delivering planned and reactive FM maintenance services in a diverse environment, where no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for electrical installations, testing, fault diagnosis and updates to work orders, using test equipment safely and following lockout/tagout procedures. Strong reading of drawings and a proactive safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow technical drawings and procedures.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Self-motivated, well organised and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Complete electrical installations and assist tradespeople with wiring, calibration and alignment tasks.

We are looking for an Electrician who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Electrician, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Electrician will be responsible for:

• Complete electrical installations and assist tradespeople with wiring, calibration, and alignment tasks.
• Carry out testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and updates to maintenance work orders.
• Use appropriate test equipment and tools, understanding their limitations.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures — no live working permitted.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and attend toolbox talks.

To be successful for this Electrician role you must have:

• Qualified to BS 7671, 18th Edition, in Electrical Installations.
• Level 3 qualification in electrical.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant, and controls.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and procedures.
• Self-motivated, well organised, and eager to learn.
• Respectful, professional, and confident in raising safety concerns.
