Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrician for a leading UK facilities management contractor in Chelmsford to deliver both planned and reactive electrical maintenance across client sites.

You will undertake PPM, diagnose faults, support plumbing and fabric tasks, maintain documentation and RAMS, and help manage subcontractors while upholding health and safety standards.

The role offers long-term progression with KPI/SLA focus across diverse building services systems.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification to City & Guilds Levels 1-3 (or equivalent).
• Health & Safety qualification or certification.
• Experience delivering electrical maintenance within a commercial or facilities management environment.
• Good understanding of building services systems including heating, chilled water, air distribution, domestic water, UPS, and generator systems.
• IT proficiency including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance in line with contractual KPIs and SLAs, ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults, undertake electrical repairs, and support basic plumbing and fabric maintenance tasks where required.
• Maintain accurate work records, certification, logbooks, and compliance documentation using company systems and procedures.
• Support subcontractor management activities, including reviewing RAMS, coordinating site access, and minimising disruption to the client.
• Promote health & safety compliance, identify defects and improvement opportunities, and provide operational support and reporting to management.

We are looking for an Electrician who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.
