Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Testing Engineer to join a leading facilities management contractor in the UK. You will deliver both planned and reactive FM maintenance, focusing on electrical testing including EICR inspections and Fixed Wire testing.

The successful candidate will hold Level 3 NVQ Diploma, 18th Edition BS 7671, City & Guilds 2391‑52, and have proven EICR delivery experience with strong reporting and compliance, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
• 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391‑52 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering EICRs and fixed wire testing.
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate, professional reports.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out EICR inspections on commercial and industrial installations.
• Perform Fixed Wire (Periodic) Inspection & Testing in accordance with BS 7671.
• Identify faults, deviations, and non‑compliances within electrical systems.

As the Electrical Testing Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Electrical Testing Engineer, will be responsible for:

• Carry out EICR inspections on commercial and industrial electrical installations
• Perform Fixed Wire (Periodic) Inspection & Testing in accordance with BS 7671
• Identify faults, defects, deviations, and non‑compliances within electrical systems
• Correctly code observations using C1, C2, C3, and FI classifications while maintaining clear and auditable testing records, schedules, and certification
• Work in strict compliance with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and company procedures

To be successful for this Electrical Testing Engineer role you must have:

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification
