Job summary

Equans is seeking a qualified Electrician to perform installation, maintenance, inspection and repair works across residential and commercial properties in Belfast and County Antrim. Heating experience is essential and a company van will be provided for travel between sites.

You will work safely, comply with BS 7671 and EAWR, and liaise with other trades to complete projects on time. This temporary role runs 3 months with a negotiable pay rate.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• AM2.
• Eligible to obtain an ECS Gold Card if not already held.
• Level 3 Award in BS 7671 (latest edition).
• Proven electrical installation, maintenance and repair experience.
• Heating experience - essential.
• Full UK/NI driving licence.
• DBS check or willingness to complete one.
• Good health & safety regulations understanding.
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair works.
• Carry out safe isolation in accordance with industry standards and company processes.
• Inspect and test fixed wiring systems in line with BS 7671 and relevant guidance.
• Diagnose, repair and rectify electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports where required.
• Install, commission and maintain fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and site teams to complete jobs efficiently.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety requirements, EAWR, BS 7671 and relevant British Standards.
• Provide a professional and high-quality service to customers.
• Maintain accurate records and follow relevant company procedures.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

A work van will be provided for travel between sites across East and South Belfast.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• AM2.
• Alternatively, candidates with older/pre-existing qualifications may be considered, provided they are eligible to obtain an ECS Gold Card.
• Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations - BS 7671 (latest edition).
• Proven electrical installation, maintenance and repair experience.
• Previous heating experience - essential.
• Full UK/NI driving licence.
• Valid DBS or willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Good understanding of construction health & safety regulations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

DESIRABLE

• Valid ECS Card.
• Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection, Testing, Condition Reporting and Certification of Electrical Installations.
• Experience within residential repairs and maintenance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
• Hours: 40 hours per week, including a 60-minute unpaid break.
• Contract: Temporary, 28th September - 31st December.
• Travel: Various sites across East and South Belfast.
• Vehicle: Work van provided for travel between sites.
