Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Electrician in Larne, Northern Ireland. The role offers a 4-day Monday–Thursday schedule with generous overtime potential and a strong benefits package.

Pay is hourly with day and night shifts, with full PPE and onsite parking provided. The successful candidate will read complex schematics, perform wiring, installation, terminations and panel connections, and work safely in a lean manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Formal electrical qualification (Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3)
• Proven track record in electrical wiring, installation, terminations, panel connection
• Experience in lean manufacturing environments and meeting process times
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Basic IT literacy advantageous

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex schematic drawings to plan assembly methods and sequences.
• Perform electrical wiring, installation, terminations, panel connections, conduit/cable tray fitting.
• Safely operate power and hand tools with accuracy.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Adhere to site health, safety, quality standards and 5S principles.
• Train and mentor other team members when required.
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with company values and improvement initiatives.

Pay Rates

• Day Shift:£17.95 per hour
• Night Shift:£23.93 per hour
• Overtime (First 10 hours):£26.93 per hour
• Overtime (After 10 hours):£35.90 per hour

Shift Patterns

• Day Shift:
  • Monday: 07:00 – 17:15
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:45
• Night Shift:
  • Monday: 21:00 – 07:15
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 21:0 – 06:45

(Note: Shift times may vary slightly depending on work location within the facility)

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex schematic drawings to plan assembly methods and sequences.
• Perform diverse electrical tasks, including wiring, installation, terminations, connecting panels, crimping, and upfitting cable trays/ladder racks and conduits on gensets and enclosures.
• Safely operate a wide variety of power and hand tools.
• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Strict compliance with site health, safety, quality standards, and the 5S programme.
• Train and mentor other team members when required.
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with company core values and support business improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Qualifications:Formal Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent relevant electrical qualification.
• Hands-on Experience:Proven track record in electrical wiring, installation, terminations, panel connection, and conduit/cable tray fitting.
• Environment:Experience working within a lean manufacturing environment and to defined process times is preferred.
• Capabilities:Comfort working at heights and in enclosed/confined work areas.
• Mindset:Strong attention to detail, a keen commitment to safety, and a proactive attitude.
• IT Skills:Basic computer literacy is advantageous (though not essential).
