Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our hard services team at a static site in Birstall. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across offices, industrial and commercial environments, with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

You will inspect assets, carry out inspections, repairs, and coordinate with subcontractors. A strong IT aptitude and electrical qualifications are essential to delivering compliant, safe facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic plumbing, carpentry, and decoration tasks.
• Undertake statutory ppm inspections with health and safety practices.
• Ability to record work on worksheets and computer systems.
• IT literate with MS Word/Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect, and carry out repairs or preventative maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive/planned services.
• Support sub-contractors on site and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure work complies with specifications and safety regulations.

About The Role:

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join one or our static site's in Birstall.

Main Duties:

• Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns in a timely fashion.
• Carry out reactive and planned services in a range of environments from offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises.
• Trade skills are desirable or previous experience performing In a similar role
• Carrying out statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checks including basic replacements and other minor reactive works.
• Being an ambassador for the customer; dealing professionally with complaints and queries
• support engineer sub-contractors upon attending site.
• Providing technical guidance to the client and contract support
• Carrying out minor building fabric repairs
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and in line with Health & Safety legislation.
• Upkeeping of site documentation

To be successful in the role, you will need:

• Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• Experience in a comparable role undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm inspections with a good understanding of Health & Safety working practices
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements; along with issuing permit to work for hard service tasks
• Experience using BMS system.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would be desirable
• Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems

Essential Qualifications:

• A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering
• AM2 Certification is essential
• The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18 th Edition)
• Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

• An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
