Job summary

D R Newitt & Associates is seeking an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a rapidly growing, highly automated manufacturing environment in York. You will maintain, improve and optimise production equipment to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.

Ideal candidates will have an engineering qualification (electrical or mechanical), strong electrical fault-finding skills, and experience with automated machinery and PLC-controlled systems, in FMCG or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
• Experience with automated manufacturing machinery and PLC-controlled systems.
• Good understanding of mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Experience in FMCG or similar manufacturing environments.
• Proactive problem-solving under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on highly automated production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Work with PLC-controlled systems and modern manufacturing equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Identify recurring faults and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with production teams to maximise equipment performance.
