Qualifications

• Extensive, current or recent experience within the electrical industry.
• Strong technical knowledge across electrical installation.
• Experience delivering training or mentoring would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Planning and preparing engaging lessons in advance.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join our growing team as an Electrical Trainer & Assessor.

This is an ideal opportunity for either an established Electrical Trainer/Assessor looking to join a growing private training provider, or an experienced electrician who is ready to step away from full-time site work and use their industry knowledge to train, support and develop the next generation of electricians.

At Tungsten Training Centre, we are passionate about providing high-quality, industry-led training. You will become a valued member of our delivery team, working directly with both apprentices and adult learners undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 electrical qualifications.

The Role

As an Electrical Trainer & Assessor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging face-to-face training while managing and supporting your own caseload of learners throughout their programme.

You will work closely with our delivery, administration and quality teams to ensure learners receive the technical knowledge, practical skills and ongoing support required to successfully achieve their qualifications and progress within the electrical industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and preparing engaging lessons in advance.
• Delivering high-quality face-to-face electrical training at Level 2 and Level 3.
• Teaching a combination of apprentices and adult learners entering or progressing within the electrical industry.
• Managing your own caseload of learners and supporting their progress throughout their programme.
• Assessing and marking learners' practical and theory work accurately and within required timescales.
• Providing constructive feedback to support learner development.
• Conducting workplace/site visits to observe and assess learners in their working environment.
• Scheduling and conducting progress reviews with learners and their employers.
• Monitoring learner attendance, progress and engagement and raising concerns promptly where required.
• Ensuring appropriate and sufficient evidence of learning and competence is maintained.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date learner records across company systems.
• Working in accordance with awarding-body, apprenticeship and internal quality requirements.
• Working closely with the quality team to ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Completing appropriate CPD to ensure your technical knowledge remains current and relevant to industry.
• Confidently using Microsoft Office and our internal learner management systems.

About You

We are ideally looking for someone who already has experience within electrical teaching and/or assessing. However, we are equally interested in hearing from experienced electricians who have extensive industry knowledge and are looking to transition into education and training.

You should have:

• Extensive, current or recent experience within the electrical industry.
• Strong technical knowledge across electrical installation.
• A recognised electrical qualification at Level 3 or above.
• A strong understanding of current industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deliver training to groups and individuals.
• A professional, organised and approachable manner.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when assessing and recording learner evidence.
• The ability to manage your own workload and learner caseload effectively.
• Good IT skills and confidence working across digital systems.
• A genuine interest in developing and supporting future electricians.

Teaching & Assessing Qualifications

A recognised assessor qualification such as TAQA/A1/CAVA or equivalent is desirable.

If you are an experienced electrician who does not currently hold an assessor qualification, we would be willing to support the right candidate in obtaining this qualification.

Previous teaching experience and a recognised teaching qualification would be advantageous, but we are happy to consider candidates with strong industry experience who have the right attitude and ability to transition into training.
