Job summary

SGS in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manufacturing Test Technician for a 1-year contract in Stonehouse. You will support the production team by testing, calibrating and repairing electrical and electronic tools.

You will work with assemblers, mechanical technicians and supervisors to complete tasks, perform functional tests, and troubleshoot to diagnose defects. The role uses SAP for material data and requires upkeep of test equipment. Overtime may be required but there is no shift work.

Qualifications

• Further education in Electrical or Electronic engineering (e.g. ONC, HNC, HND or NVQ Level 2).
• Experience using electronic lab equipment to test and debug electromechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read drawings and control documents and to work to IPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out functional tests of PWAs and electronic assemblies.
• Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers and bills of material.
• Maintain production tools and equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose product, process or program defects and repair them.
• Read blueprints, identify components, perform wire preparations, stripping and crimping; harness repair and termination.
