MERITUS Talent are working with one of the world's largest aerospace organizations for the recruitment of an Electrical Test Engineer to work on Satellite Systems, on a contract basis in their Stevenage office.
Electrical Test Engineer (Satellite Systems) - Stevenage - 12 Month Contract - £55 per hour via Umbrella - Fully On Site
Job Profile
- Interpret electrical and functional test requirements from test specifications.
- Provide test solutions to meet the specifications, from planning and kick-off to execution.
- Support test operations team during anomalies.
- Close out tests with Post Test Review and Test Report.
- Contribute to project test reviews (Test Readiness, Post Test, Test Review Boards, Non-Conformance Review Boards).
- Develop and debug Automatic Test Procedures (ATP) using a high-level S/W language (Open Center checkout system, Elisa language, JAVA).
- Prepare and execute spacecraft system investigations per Non-Conformance Review Boards actions.
- Support spacecraft systems tests during environmental testing (TVAC, Magnetic, EMC).
- Adhere to company and departmental procedures and standards.
Skills and Experience
Knowledge:
- Experience writing test sequences/scripts for spacecraft tests using Central Checkout System (CCS). Knowledge of Elisa and JAVA is advantageous.
- Knowledge of TMTC Databases.
- Understanding of spacecraft systems and subsystems (Data Handling, Data Bus Communications - 1553, Spacewire, Attitude & Orbital Control, etc.).
- Programming and scripting skills, especially Linux/Unix bash scripts; knowledge of C, Java, Python, TCL, VBA is beneficial.
- Experience with electrical measurement test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, etc.).
- Knowledge of spacecraft electrical systems and harnesses is a plus.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS.
- Understanding of 'cleanroom' disciplines.
- Knowledge of system testing and verification.
- Willingness to support shifts and flexible working.
Experience:
- Writing test sequences/scripts for spacecraft systems testing, including FDIR, from CCS.
- Electrical fault investigation and test sequence debugging.
- Participation in environmental and launch test campaigns.
- Preparing test procedures, writing reports, and supporting reviews.
- Electrical integration on test benches or spacecraft (desirable).
