Job summary

Electrical Test Engineer (Housing) at British Engineering Services Group operates across Barnsley and Yorkshire, performing electrical testing in domestic and communal areas within the social housing sector. The role includes remedial work and adherence to safety standards and company policies.

You will document findings, liaise with tenants and partners, and maintain tools and van stock to support first-time fixes in the area. A driving licence and flexible availability are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work (e.g. C&G 2330, 2360, 2357, 2365).
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent (2394 / 2395).
• JIB Gold Card is required.
• BS7671 18th edition (or willing to achieve this before starting).

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical testing in domestic/communal areas within social housing.
• Carry out remedial works identified during testing.
• Work individually or as part of a team ensuring high-quality repairs and tests.
• Record electrical documentation using CRM and reporting software.
• Liaise with tenants, customers and supply chain; maintain van stocks.
