Job summary

British Engineering Services Group, a leading UK risk management provider, is hiring an Electrical Test Engineer (Housing) to perform electrical testing in social housing across the Boston, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire area.

You will conduct domestic and communal testing, perform remedial works, document findings using our CRM and reporting software, and ensure compliance with BS7671 and company health and safety policies. A full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work (e.g. C&G 2330/2360/2357/2365).
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or 2394/2395 equivalent.
  • BS7671 18th edition (or willing to achieve before starting).
  • Strong customer-facing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical testing in domestic and communal areas in social housing.
  • Undertake remedial works identified during testing.
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671 and company health & safety policies.
  • Record electrical documentation accurately using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Carry out electrical condition reporting, repairs and installations to high standards.

ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER (HOUSING)
BOSTON / LINCOLNSHIRE AREA
£35,100 with realistic earnings of up to £50,000

Our expert teams carry out hundreds of essential Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and other critical inspections every day, helping customers stay compliant and protected.

To be considered for this role you will live within and be happy traveling across the Boston and Lincolnshire / Yorkshire areas.

What will you be doing?

As an Electrical Test Engineer (Housing) for British Engineering Services Group Electrical, you will carry out electrical testing within the social housing industry within the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire area. Within this role, you will undertake electrical testing in domestic/ communal areas and carry out any associated remedial works identified.

You will:

  • To work individually or as part of a team undertaking high quality electrical repairs testing and / or remedial works as required.
  • To comply with BS7671 standards and company standards of work performance, ensuring implementation and compliance within electrical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilise both our CRM system and reporting software to accurately record electrical documentation.
  • You will be expected to carry out electrical condition reporting, repairs and installations to the highest of standards.
  • Liaise with tenants, customers and members of our supply chain.
  • Maintain van stocks and provide information enabling the improvements of first time fixes for the area you work within.
As an Electrical Test Engineer (Housing), you will get:

  • Qualifications including: NVQ Level 3 Qualification in electrical installation work e.g. C&G 2330, 2360, 2357, 2365
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent (2394 / 2395)
  • BS7671 18th edition (or willing to achieve this before starting role)
  • To demonstrate a positive, diverse and inclusive attitude to both internal and external customers and colleagues.
  • A flexible approach to working, you should be able and willing to work overtime to cover workloads during busy periods.
  • To be hard-working, conscientious Electrician that takes satisfaction from delivering a great service to our prestigious client base.
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Full driving licence held for 12 months (minimum)
