Job summary

Construction Resources Limited is seeking an Electrical Tester with City & Guilds 2391 to join a busy FMCG manufacturing environment. You will carry out electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding to ensure installations meet safety standards and operate efficiently.

You will interpret drawings, complete test certificates and reports, and work with engineering and maintenance teams to improve reliability and compliance. This is a permanent role offering ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection, testing and verification in line with regulations and standards.
• Perform electrical testing on installations, equipment and associated systems.
• Complete initial verification and periodic inspection and testing where applicable.
• Identify, diagnose and report electrical faults, defects and non-compliances.
• Complete electrical test certificates, inspection reports and associated documentation accurately.
• Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, site procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams to support operational reliability.
• Follow safe isolation procedures and ensure all work is completed safely and professionally.
• Prove City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent qualification coverage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding activities, ensuring electrical installations, equipment and systems meet the required safety standards and operate efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for a competent Electrical Tester with a strong technical background who can work accurately, safely and efficiently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical inspection, testing and verification in line with relevant regulations and standards.
• Perform electrical testing on installations, equipment and associated systems.
• Complete initial verification and periodic inspection and testing, where applicable.

• Relevant electrical qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience carrying out electrical inspection and testing.
• A sound understanding of BS 7671 and applicable electrical safety regulations.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong fault-finding skills and excellent attention to detail.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
• Previous experience within FMCG, food and beverage, packaging or high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience working with industrial electrical systems, production machinery and control panels.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and continuous improvement practices.
