Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer for Jarrow, Tyne and Wear to carry out testing and inspection activities, ensure compliance with standards, and document results.

You will work with site teams to verify equipment safety, perform routine tests, and help with commissioning while maintaining safety. Candidates should have relevant electrical qualifications and strong attention to detail; local UK regulations apply.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical testing/inspection roles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical testing and inspection activities in line with relevant standards and procedures.
• Perform routine and fault‑finding electrical tests to ensure equipment and installations meet required specifications.
• Produce clear, accurate test documentation and reports, ensuring traceability of results.
• Support commissioning activities by verifying electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• Follow site safety procedures and work to risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment in accordance with internal processes and statutory requirements.
• Identify defects or non‑conformities and recommend corrective actions to improve compliance and reliability.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and site teams to deliver testing within agreed timescales.

• Competence in using electrical test instruments (for example, insulation resistance testing and continuity testing).
• Working understanding of relevant UK electrical standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret results and identify issues, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate test records and reports.
• Good communication skills to liaise effectively with site teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant electrical qualification (such as an NVQ or City & Guilds in Electrical/Electrotechnical disciplines).
• Relevant certification for electrical testing and/or inspection (where applicable to the role and responsibilities).
• Commitment to health and safety, including working safely around live and/or potentially hazardous systems.
