Matchtech is seeking an Electrical Test Operator for a 12-month contract in Bolton, onsite only. The role focuses on certifying products, maintaining approvals through audits, and performing tests on electronic equipment in line with procedures.

Ideal candidates will have an electrical/electronic manufacturing background and an appropriate apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualifications, with strong attention to detail and good teamwork abilities. SC clearance eligibility is required.

Formación

• Background in electrical/electronic manufacturing test (e.g., Electrical Tester / Test Operator).
• Electrical Apprenticeship in approved frameworks or City & Guilds parts.
• Qualifications must be in Electrical Manufacturing / Electrical Engineering subjects.
• Strong attention to detail, planning/organising skills, adaptable team approach.
• Normal colour vision (no colour blindness).

Responsabilidades

• Certify the product per Certification procedure.
• Maintain product certification and audits.
• Carry out testing setup and recalibration awareness.
• Test electronic equipment per instructions using specified equipment.
• Perform simple fault-finding on electronic equipment.
• Keep test records and report faults.
• Ensure manufacturing test times are met.
• Complete paperwork for the manufacturing data pack.
• Maintain workmanship standards and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping.
• Communicate best practices to the team.

Electrical Test Operator

Key details

• Location: Bolton - fully onsite
• Contract length: 12 months
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Rate: £29.02 p/h Umbrella, rising to £30.38 p/h Umbrella after week 12
• Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance and hold the sole British nationality (can start on BPSS).

Responsibilities

• Certify the product in line with Product Certification procedure.
• Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits.
• Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
• Carry out setting-up procedures for testing, to include the awareness of the need for periodic recalibration of test equipment.
• Carry out tests on electronic equipment in accordance with test instructions, using specified test equipment.
• Carry out simple fault-finding procedures on electronic equipment.
• Keep test records and reporting faults for rectification.
• Ensure manufacturing test times are met.
• Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.
• Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain a good housekeeping policy.
• Communicate best practice to other team members.

Skillset / experience required

Background in electrical/electronic manufacturing test (e.g., Electrical Tester / Test Operator)

Electrical Apprenticeship in One Of The Following:

• Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship
• Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
• Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
• Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC

Qualifications must be in Electrical Manufacturing / Electrical Engineering subjects

Strong attention to detail, planning/organising skills, adaptable team approach
