Job summary

Heated Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer / EICR Engineer to join our growing electrical compliance team across London and the South East. You will perform EICRs in commercial and industrial properties and ensure compliance with BS 7671.

The role offers long-term stability, competitive earnings (up to £50,000 base) and real opportunities for progression, with a realistic OTE through overtime and a company van and fuel card provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Proven experience carrying out commercial electrical inspection and testing.
• Strong understanding of electrical compliance, fault finding and remedial works.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and industrial properties.
• Undertake electrical inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671 and current industry regulations.
• Identify electrical defects, non-compliances and potential safety hazards.
• Accurately record inspection findings and produce detailed electrical testing reports.
• Complete electrical remedial works where required.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated appropriately.
• Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives and internal management teams.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety throughout all works.
• Complete relevant certification and documentation accurately and within required timescales.
