Job summary

Tokamak Energy Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to support a wide range of engineering, lab, and infrastructure activities across multiple projects.

You will assist with control panels, electrical installations, fault finding, and commissioning, operating with minimal supervision. The role requires experience with LV electrical systems, reading drawings, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on training and experience.
• Experience working safely with low voltage (LV) electrical systems.
• Ability to test, fault-find, and work confidently on electrical systems.
• Experience working with control systems, control panels, or similar electrical assemblies.
• Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and schematics.
• Solid understanding of health and safety principles when working with electrical systems.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on, practical environment (including varied physical tasks).
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, layout, installation, and commissioning of control panels and control systems.
• Assemble, install, and maintain electrical systems, panels, and associated equipment.
• Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on control systems, power supplies, and electrical infrastructure.
• Work on mains-powered systems, including distribution boards and final circuits.
• Install and maintain cable containment systems such as tray, conduit, and trunking.
• Install and support data networks and associated cabling and equipment.
• Perform testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency repairs.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors on larger-scale projects.
• Maintain safe working areas, identify risks, and ensure materials and tools are available when needed.
