Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking an Electrical Technician to supervise Trainee Technicians and manage hands-on assembly, testing and servicing of products in Inchinnan, Glasgow. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to processes while meeting project timelines.

You will lead workshop activities, coordinate workloads, and collaborate with engineers to evolve product capabilities. Security clearance will be required for this defence-focused position.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship or SVQ in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge of diving communication systems and diver monitoring.
• Understanding of QA and Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Experience in a manufacturing/service environment.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for defence sector.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Trainee Technicians.
• Sign off controlled company documentation.
• Plan workloads and delegate tasks.
• Carry out all operational activities safely and reliably.
• Move materials through workshop from start to finish.
• Develop electronics/electrical team skills and competencies.
• Communicate effectively and respond to feedback.
• Keep workshop areas clean and organized.
• Interact with customers and answer questions.
• Collaborate with engineers to keep products up to date and future-proof.
