Kingston Barnes Ltd is seeking a Lead Control & Instrumentation Technician in Glasgow. The role leads day‑to‑day planning and delivery of maintenance across control and instrumentation assets at a major Energy Recovery Facility.

You will supervise technicians, manage contractors and drive safe, reliable plant performance. Reporting to the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will champion fault finding, continuous improvement and RAMS approval, while ensuring CMMS records are

Qualifikationen

• Strong C&I engineering and maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLC, DCS and SCADA systems.
• Experience in a process industry, power generation, manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Experience using CMMS.
• Previous experience leading maintenance teams and managing contractors.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication, leadership and team development skills.
• A recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant discipline.

Aufgaben

• Lead planned and reactive maintenance activities across plant control and instrumentation systems.
• Supervise, mentor and develop C&I Technicians and Apprentices.
• Diagnose faults, lead root cause investigations and implement effective solutions.
• Manage contractors and specialist maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
• Carry out plant inspections, safety inspections and technical assessments.
• Ensure maintenance activities are accurately recorded and managed through the CMMS.
• Support outage planning and delivery to maximise plant availability and asset reliability.
• Review and take ownership of RAMS.
• Work with Planning Engineers and Stock Controllers to maintain critical spare parts and consumables.
• Support site projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide engineering cover and technical support when required.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and support team development.
• Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the site.
